How we raise our kittens

GudrunSplace is a small, home-based Norwegian Forest Cat cattery on Vancouver Island.

Each litter is carefully planned with attention to health, temperament, and correct breed type. Kittens are raised in our home with steady routines and daily handling so they leave confident and well adjusted.

Our breeding cats are health tested according to current breed recommendations.

Kittens are placed as indoor companions, and we remain available to our families throughout the cat’s life.

If at any point a family cannot keep their cat, we ask to be contacted first. Every cat we bring into the world remains our responsibility.

Kitten Application

A Litter Full of Surprises!

Joy, a black smoke tortie, and Aslan, a cream male, produced a rare cream-dominant litter, including 4 cream females.  While colour is never the primary goal of a responsible breeding program, this litter represents an unusually beautiful expression of the breed and of Aslan's genetics.

V-LITTER - May 29, 2026 - SIRE: ASLAN - DAM: Joy

Venja - Available

Venja is a pale cream and white girl wit lovely balance and an elegant outline already visible beneath her baby coat. She  combines substance with refinement, showing the long body, strong legs, and harmonious proportions that are hallmarks of the Norwegian Forest Cat.

Vega - Available

Vega is a beautiful  cream and white girl with a soft expression and an elegant presence. Her pale cream colouring, pink nose, and gentle eyes give her a sweet, angelic appearance that is impossible to overlook.  She already shows lovely balance and promising ear development. She approaches the world with quiet curiosity and a calm confidence that grows more apparent each day.

Vegard -Reserved

Vegard is a large blue or blue smoke male  (to be  confirmed as his coat develops).  He is already substantial, with a broad forehead, a good profile, and a very  masculine baby face.  Temperamentally he is a calm observer.

Vera - Reserved

Vera is a cream tabby female whose pattern is still developing.  With her soft cream colouring, expressive eyes, and gentle nature, she already has a wonderfully sweet presence. We  expect Vera to mature into a beautiful, elegant Norwegian Forest Cat with the gentle temperament for which the breed is so beloved.

Vilde - Reserved

Vilde is a joyful little cream-and-white girl with a larger-than-life personality.  She is determined to participate in everything, and approaches life with curiosity and enthusiam.  Her beautiful cream colouring is accented by bright white markings and a sweet expression that makes her impossible to overlook.  She will mature into a loving family companion with plenty of personality and charm.

Vali - Reserved

Vali is a very attractive cream and white male.  He has a strong expression, a broad head, and good early substance.  He is one of the most eye-catching kittens in the litter,  and his future owner is going to be extremely pleased.

Vilja - In Option

Vilja is a beautiful blue tortie and white girl with a thoughtful expression and a quiet confidence that already sets her apart.  She combines soft pastel colouring with strong substance and excellent balance.  Her unique blend of blue, cream, and white will become even more striking as she matures.  Vilja approaches the world with calm curiosity and seems content to observe everything around her before joining the adventure.

Rousseau - In Option

Rousseau is currently my leading candidate to remain at GudrunSplace as aa future stud. He combines a beautiful cream and white coat with excellent type, strong bone, and a remarkably promising head for his age.

FOOD – Prioritize Moisture

Cats do best on moisture-rich diets (canned or fully rehydrated raw).

Dry food can be used occasionally, but hydration supports urinary and kidney health.

Wet Food Examples:

·  • Weruva

·  • Tiki Cat (After Dark formulas are excellent for kittens)

·  • Ziwi Peak (canned)

·  • Feline Natural (canned)

·  • RAWZ 96%

·  • Fancy Feast (accessible option)

Freeze-Dried / Air-Dried (Rehydrate before feeding):

·  • Feline Natural

·  • Stella & Chewy’s

·  • Open Farm

·  • Ziwi Peak (air-dried)

Add warm water and serve soft (stew consistency).

LITTER SETUP

Our cats use EasyClean Unscented litter.

Keeping the same litter initially makes transition easier.

·  • Unscented clumping litter

·  • Large litter box (one per floor is ideal)

ESSENTIALS

·  • Scratching post

·  • Wand toy (Da Bird style)

·  • Balls or small toys
