About GudrunSplace

GudrunSplace is a small, home-based Norwegian Forest Cat cattery on Vancouver Island.

We keep a limited number of breeding cats so we can monitor each cat closely, raise kittens in our home, and place them thoughtfully.

Beginning with upcoming litters, the placement fee is $3000 CAD.

Availability is limited. Priority is given to homes that match the temperament and care needs of the Norwegian Forest Cat.

Health testing is a non-negotiable part of our program.

Our breeding cats are:

• DNA tested for GSD IV and PK-Def
• Screened for FeLV and FIV
• Given HCM echocardiograms every two years

We breed only from cats with clear results.

If a concern appears in a litter, we pause and reassess. Any cat that does not consistently produce healthy kittens is retired from breeding.

Breeding responsibly means learning, adjusting, and making careful decisions over time.

The Norwegian Forest Cat is known for its distinctive face. The triangular head, straight profile, strong chin, and large ears create the open, alert expression that defines the breed.

We also value long, balanced bodies with good bone and natural strength. These cats should feel solid and capable, never fragile.

Our sire and queens are tall, long cats with proper, weather-resistant coats. Their kittens are expected to mature into large, well-proportioned adults.

We choose each pairing with care, always prioritizing health and steady temperament.
